What does the song Coconut Skin (lyrics below) written by my son Francisco Valentin have to do with your career path? Well, let’s find out.

First, let me give you a little bit of a background about him.

Francisco is a songwriter. He wants to change the world positively, using his lyrics and music. I have to say he is GREAT. Initially, I thought it was just my opinion— since I am his mamá—but every time he plays his music, people come forward to congratulate him.

He always knew what his career path would be since the day he discovered he could play his older sister’s piano and couldn’t keep his hands off of it: From that moment he started writing songs and playing the piano.

He wrote this song for those that feel lost finding their way towards their career and purpose in life.

You see; a coconut turns brown when it’s the right time. Once it is ripe and falls from the palm tree, it’s drifted by the sea and lands where it is supposed to land.

I compare this event to someone that finds their true passion and lands in the perfect job. For instance; in my son’s career path he always knew that music was his passion and followed his heart.

But as the song lyrics read:

At the right time at all.”

What if what you choose doesn’t fulfill you?

What if you land a job you don’t like?
